With “Am” being spelled with an ‘Ayin, this applies in Lashon HaKodesh. In Aramaic though you can have the word “Uma,” which means people, spelled with a Alef. For example, in Maseches Shabbos (Daf 33:b), the story of Rav Shimon Bar Yochai is told. It starts off with 4 people sitting, R’ Yehuda, R’ Yose, R’ Shimon, and Yehuda Ben Gerim. R’ Yehuda says, “כמה נאים מעשיהן של אומה זו” (How pleasant are the ways of this people [the Romans]). Uma here means nations, and the dialect is in Aramaic. So, playing that word with an Alef is not that far fetched, as there is textual basis.

There’s a saying in Hebrew that one who cannot dance, complains that the floor is crooked.

Getting married is a DECISION, plain and simple. Well, maybe not so simple. If parents do not raise a child to be confident in his/her decision, the adult will be confused and unable to make a total commitment to marriage and children. The adult will also be afraid. For a young adult with seemingly great potential to say that he/she is afraid or confused, this would invite all sorts of advice that the person does not want to consider. Therefore, talking about finances makes him/her appear more stable and level-headed and gets others off his/her back.

Yes, one should step forward with bitachon in Hashem and Emunah, do his/her hishtadlut and daven. The wife and children bring the parnassa.
